Medical Mission: Is it really worth it?

Medical Mission

We all want to do something noble in our life. Perhaps, we want to be the most famous doctor in our city. We want to be a successful businessman who can make huge impacts in the lives of others. We all dream big but sometimes we forget that success is not just about money and fame. Success is also measured by the number of lives you have touched.

The medical field is very demanding. Some doctors may not opt to work in a hospital because they feel like they are called to do something greater. Medical mission is often considered as a risk. You go out and travel for a couple of weeks without the comfort of your bed and even the state of the art facilities of a private hospital. You mingle with people and you discover diseases that you can never imagine would exist.

What is it with the medical missions?

There are some people who are just simply passionate in outreach and volunteer works. They want to touch many people lives, especially those who are in dire need of help. If you are a doctor, you would want to make use of your knowledge and skills to save as many lives as you can.
Involving in medical mission through an organization, like NDCA , would make your profession more meaningful. It is in your field works and outreach programs wherein you will know how lucky you are and how you would want to impart such blessing to others. It is through doing something noble like participating in medical mission activities that you can find “life-altering” moments.
