Money is one of the most common forms of donation that charities will be appreciative of. After all, any donated amount can help in keeping their charity programs running for even a day more. With money, charities will be able to help more people.

However, it is good to note that money isn’t the only goods you can give to charity. If you don’t have the money to donate, you still have other options available for you to choose from. Here are some of the alternatives when you want to give to charity without donating money.

Blood or Plasma
Donating even one liter of blood or plasma may be able to save another person’s life. Medical facilities have a high demand for blood donations. They need to stock blood so that they can immediately have access to it when they need it the most. Patients who need blood transfusions typically don’t have that much time to wait for someone to come forward and donate their blood. Blood donations can be done once every six months if you meet the right conditions, but you can donate plasma more frequently than that.

Pre-loved items
You may have some books or pre-loved clothes you’ve grown out of. These are prime goods to donate. Aside from outgrown clothes, you can donate your pre-loved bedsheets, duvets, and pillows to orphanages, shelters, and the likes. You may be able to keep a few homeless people warm in the shelter during the winter when you donate your used cloaks.

Cash Back
If you are a frequent user of your credit or debit card, consider asking your bank if they offer cash backs. In addition, ask if they offer the option of donating the cash backs to charity organizations. Most credit cards nowadays have this option, so consider donating your cash back instead.

Sponsor a Child
There are many vulnerable children and orphans around the world. If you sponsor one of those children who is barely scraping by, you’d be giving them hope for their future. Sponsoring a child means you’ll be giving them the basic necessities needed for survival.

Time
Volunteering your time is also a good way to give to charity. If the charity organization you support has an event or program planned, you can sign up for it ahead of time. Most charity organizations needed the manpower to carry out their charity works. By volunteering, you’ll be able to help them out even without forking your own money.
